First graders had a terrific experience learning how to tell time. We learned a fun chant in Ms. Hinnant's class to help us remember which hand tells us the hour and which hand tells us the minute. It goes like this: The small hand has the power it shows you the hour! The long hand shows the minute count by fives to get it! We also learned the "Tick Tock Around the Clock" song in Ms. Hinnant's math class! Here are a few photos of our fun times... hahah

Thank you Mr. Matriccino's Class
Our class has 4th grade reading buddies. We enjoy reading to our buddies, having them read to us, working on writing with our buddies, singing with our buddies, and most of all learning with our buddies! Here are a few photos of our time together...
The 100th Day of School
On Tuesday, February 12, 2013 our class celebrated the 100th Day of School! We began our celebration by counting to 100 by 1's, 2's, 5's, and 10's. We did 10 bundle dances with our calendar straws (10 straws in each bundle). We made 100th Day hats, wrote 100 words, worked on 100th Day packets, illustrated 100th Day poems, and made 100th Day books too!

Back to learning we go...
We made snowflakes using a line of symmetry. We even added a face, hat, and mittens to make them all our own.
We each thought of something we wanted to know about our classmates and created a survey question and collection method. We collected and organized our survey data in many different ways.
Feel Better Elizabeth and Mrs. Perry
We made cards for Mrs. Perry's daughter, Elizabeth, while she was sick. We knew a few band-aids would help patch things right up!
