In the month of February we will celebrate Black History month. Black History month was created by Carter G. Woodson and is celebrated in February in honor of Frederick Douglas and Abraham Lincoln. We will learn about the accomplishments, culture, and contributions of African Americans and others with African roots. In our class we have learned that OUR history includes ALL people. We are excited to learn more about African American leaders, authors, athletes, inventors, scientists, actors and actresses, etc.
