Our Field Trip to see Disney Nature's BEARS

Bears is a 2014 nature documentary film about a family of brown bears living in the coastal mountainous ranges of Alaska. We met Sky (mom), Amber and Scout (cubs)!

Our Field Trip to the Theater

We had an amazing time watching some of of our favorite Leo Lionni books come to life! 

Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia's award winning production is drawn from Leo Lionni's exquisitely crafted Caldecott Honor books. Swimmy is a tiny fish who uses ingenuity to fend off danger. Frederick, a poetic mouse, makes everyday life an artful experience. A lovable inchworm shares his facility for measuring absolutely everything. These stories are delightfully transformed to puppet theater in the gentle storytelling style that has earned the company international acclaim.

A little bit of matter changing

We put Alka Seltzer tablets in film canisters with water. The we watched the solid and liquid make gas and POP!

We put baking soda in a deflated balloon and vinegar in a bottle. When we dropped the solid into the liquid it created enough gas to blow up the balloon!
